When I was a kid, there was a local band called Airkraft that was the shit in Eau Claire. Peter Phippin, the bass player, lived in my neighborhood and it was so cool to see this haggard pasty white dude with tons of ratty heavy metal black hair walking around with his leather pants and his toddler 
They had one “hit” song (“hit” meaning the local radio station played it) and it was called “Alien Probe”. Of course I don’t remember the lyrics, just a bit of the chorus, and it probably sucked, but whatever, that isn’t the point.
THE POINT IS I just thought of this song because of all the talk about UFOs in Stephenville. At first when Marty was telling me about this, I was mildly amused. But, because I am a dork, now I want to drive out there and see if I can see anything. Just like I’ve always wanted to see the Marfa Lights ever since I heard about them in the 80s, I think it would be cool to see SOMETHING. Even if it is just a blimp or whatever they are calling it.
My dad is here this weekend, maybe I will take him with me. Not because I’m scared or anything…
